This is
NOT your typical club lacrosse experience.
In fact it's not a "CLUB" at all! Don't get us
wrong, there is a time and place for club ball
and we fully support you finding a great club
with great coaches to go play great tournaments!
But we don't believe it should be the ONLY
option for you to get on the field, improve your
skills, play with other great players and and
have a fantastic experience.
So we built something new. Something that we
know works but with a few new twists!
Welcome to the WINTER 2025 STICKS-IN SIXES Series!
If you've been to any of our Next Step
Experience events then you already know the
format. Fast paced, non-stop, high rep count,
exciting action, and most of all FUN!
If this sounds like something you'd be into,
read on and register now! |

|
So what is the STICKS-IN SIXES Series and
why is it different? We could go on for hours but we'll try to
keep it brief and hit the highlights!
First, it's player centered. Each player. Every player. We're
firm believers that players get out of an experience what they
put in but they have to be presented with the opportunity to
shine! STICKS-IN SIXES provides those opportunities in
abundance!
Second, it's family centered. We know you are BUSY. We know you
have commitments that you need to honor. The last thing you need
is another layer of chaos and cost. STICKS-IN SIXES works hard
to avoid all of that by providing plenty of options.
Last and for us most importantly, it's FUN! So much of the
traditional club sports experience is about excelling in a hyper
competitive arena where stress and pressure is rampant. We
believe an outlet to encourage and express the simple love for
the game is vital to sustaining a success arc that allows for
better player development and greater longevity.
Here's a quick chart just highlighting the differences! |
|
 |
|
Here's all the details
of what the STICKS-IN SIXES Series is all about:
We've polled our Upstate families and they overwhelmingly
requested that we recreate the Summer Series BUT keep it local!
You asked and we answered! We are still opening the Series up to
any player who wants to participate but all three dates will be
held locally!
We are committed to assembling 50-75 players who will participate in 3 events.
This means 4-6 "teams" at each event along with a Coach for each
"team." So this means no super long drives, definitely no flights, and no required
hotel overnight stays.
Here's the structure of the events:
To begin each event, players will toss their stick into a pile.
Each coach will take turns drawing sticks out of the pile until
all of the sticks are selected. The sticks chosen by each coach
will represent their "Team" for the day. Yes this means you may
not know any of your teammates. That's the point. Each team will
have a total of 10-12 players including goalies. Field players
will be expected to play both offense and defense.
Each team will play either four 30 minute games or five 25 minute games with 10 minutes between
games depending on the total number of players present so the entire event will be conducted in roughly 3 hours.
Playing format will be played following slightly modified Sixes
rules. Each team will field 1 goalie and 5 field players. The
field of play will be approximately 60 yards long and 30 yards
wide. Once play begins the clock runs continuous and constant
play. Substitutions are on the fly with no stoppage of play.
This means if you are on the sideline you must be aware and
prepared to jump into the action at any moment. If a goal is
scored the goalie collects the ball and begins the next playing
opportunity.
A few key points:
There will be no officials so it is up to the players to call
out of bounds etc. I mean we used to play without boundaries
so...yeah.
Coaches are there to offer suggestions and advice as well as
answer questions. They aren't there to design plays, set
strategies, or create a lineup. Think of them as your sideline
support.
There is NO CHECKING. This always shocks players and parents in
the beginning but after the first 5 minutes of game one it
becomes clear why this is instituted. Trust us. It'll make you
better.
There are no free position shots. In fact there are no interior
field markings except for the crease so no 8 or 12 meter.
The games are PLAYER LEAD.
There is no score kept. Removing the pressure of a scoreboard
encourages players to push themselves and their skills. Playing,
competing, and expanding skills is the reward. Making new
friends and having FUN is the measure of success.
For the PARENTS:
This is the ultimate opportunity for you to be a fan of your
player and all the players on the field. Nothing that happens during these events will need to
end up on a highlight reel. We encourage you to simply sit back,
cheer for lacrosse, and enjoy watching your player make
memories. We can almost guarantee your player will love that you
just relax and enjoy the day! |

the staff in attendance.
We ask that only players

with each registrant to communicate all necessary
information and details of new event information.
4) We fully expect to be able to hold a safe event. As
guidelines continue to evolve, we will also adapt the event experience in
